Viterra Chartering B.V. is seeking a Financial Administrator. Our Freight accounting team consist of five colleagues and is part of the Chartering Operations Department. You will be working in the middle of the business. The team is supportive, motivated and ambitious and works together in an informal way.
In this position you will be the main link between the Operations Offices and the Business Controllers, by providing financial support to the Operations Officers in order to have insight in results of every shipment. Our new colleague is a good communicator, is well organised and enjoys working closely with the business.
You will be working in a dynamic, international and challenging environment where you will be reporting directly to the Business Controller and will assist the Business Controllers with preparations for the month close procedures. You will also be in direct contract with our Chartering Trade and Operations and the group (accounting) reporting department.
Your role in our network:
- You will prepare and control different operational expenses;
- You will control outstanding balances and allocate receipts and prepare payments;
- You will provide assistance for month close procedures and to the business controllers for the overall continuity of the administration;
- You will review all trade deals executed by Freight Derivate Trader(s);
- You will be involved in the financial check for closing of voyages/shipments;
- You will process various ad-hoc business requests and (IT) projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting and reporting processes.
Who are we looking for?
- You have a Bachelor degree, preferably financial or business economics;
- You have at least 2 years’ experience in a financial role
- You have strong analytical skills and are able to switch quickly on different levels;
- You are IT literate with preferably extensive knowledge of MS Office;
- You have a practical attitude, good communication skills and a pro-active, no-nonsense mentality;
- You are able to work independent, but also a team player;
- You are curios and have the willingness to learn the company’s business;
- You are fluent in English (both verbal and written).
